Slimming Smoothies

I have recently become very addicted to smoothies. One of my best friends has been drinking smoothies and has lost a lot of weight. So I hit Google for some slimming smoothie recipes.

I came across this Blueberry Smoothie that looked delish!

Servings: 1
1 cup skim milk
1 cup unsweetened blueberries
1 TBSP cold-compressed  organic flax-seed oil (MUFA)
(calories: 273)

Combine milk and blueberries in blender and blend 1 minute. Transfer to glass and stir in flax-seed oil.

But when I went shopping for the ingredients I could not find the organic flax-seed oil at all. And instead of blueberries, I got triple berry mix. So I did just that for a few days. Now I add a half of cup of Greek vanilla yogurt. Then while at Kroger (they have a great organic selection) I found Spectrum Ground Flaxseed with mixed berries.

I am really enjoying my smoothie for breakfast every morning. Calories for my version is 305.

1 cup skim milk
1 cup mixed  berries
1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons of the flax-seed powder

Let me know if you have a smoothie recipe that you love, please let me know!

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time I used to love to blog. I loved blogging about my life and my family. Mostly the crazy stuff my Hubby or my kids said. But I was homeschooling my son and that took so much of my time.  So I gave up my blog, my son's education came first. But this year both my children will be in schools, all day.

Then one of my biggest blogging subjects became my weight. I always knew I was big but never seen myself as the picture below. What started my weight loss journey was I was unable to get health insurance. Every insurance company refused me because of my weight.

So I decided I NEEDED to do something about it. I decided to join Planet Fitness and I worked out every single day. In the beginning it was very hard. Then I also joined MyFitnessPal as  HPat910 (<----Click to be to be friends!) I started watching everything I ate. I counted every single calorie that went in my mouth. I started  drinking lots of water and gave up the gallons of Mountain Dew I drank.  Fruits and veggies  became a regular part of my diet.

Now almost 17 months later, I am  69.6 pounds lighter. I am much more healthier and happier. I have friends who keep asking me to write about my journey. So today I decided to give this blogging thing another try.

So I would like to introduce you to the new and improved me!
This is from today August 14th. These last 17 months has been hard. There has been days I felt like giving up. I've struggled.  But I refuse to give up.

I would like to thank everyone in my life who has cheered me on. Who has kept me motivated and didn't let me give up.

And I hope you stick around to read more......this is just the beginning :)
